If you had to hire a staff position what would it be?

Asked by Dog (25152points) February 26th, 2009

It can be for your personal life of business.
What type of help could you use the most to be able to get more done?
Some examples:
Driver, Secretary, Clerk, Maid, Butler, Nanny, Concierge, Gardener etc.

Either a cook or housekeeper. Between my illness and chasing my son all day I just don’t want to cook or clean. I can get through one but not both.

Or Mommy. I could use one to do everything for me, especially laundry and appointments.

@Darwin – I was thinking along the lines of an Nanny for Adults. Guess it is the same.

Laundress. I want to have someone sort, wash, fold, and put my laundry away. I would love that more than almost anything in the entire world.

Life coach to help me counteract 30+ of horrid self-talk.

Cleaner to do household chores.

Tailor/designer to adjust any off-the-rack-clothes I get and to whip me up outfits as necessary.

Definately a chef. I love to cook but I don’t have the time or skill to make amazing meals every night.

I would like a personal valet to hang my clothes up when I drop them on the floor, do my laundry, keep my closet in order, and put my shoes in nice neat rows. It would also be great if they knew me so well they could lay my clothes out for me every day so I wouldn’t have to decide what to wear.

Someone to dust. I HATE that! I’d vacuum every day if someone else would dust for me. :-(

cak's avatar

@JB – me, too!!! I hate to dust.

Anyway – who said Keeper? I like that one. Keeper.

Wait, I know. I need someone to answer the million and one questions my kids ask between 4pm and 8p. Please. I’ve run out of answers.

Darwin's avatar

@cak: It was me. I said Keeper. I need one. Badly.

You need to teach your kids to Askville. That would take care of this problem: http://askville.amazon.com/thought-Questions-world-reached-limit/DiscussionBoard.do?requestId=40362906&page=1

@Darwin – Oh….that’s true. I didn’t think about that!! Then again, I’d have a lot of questions directed back at me about pregnancy.

I’m searching for keepers for us.

Reminder. This would allow my wife to take a much needed break from having to constantly keep after me about all my mental lapses.

@Sparkie510 someone to change diapers?

KrystaElyse's avatar

Beer wench. no wait, personal assistant.

fireinthepriory's avatar

Definitely a secretary/personal assistant, oh my gosh. I have way too much stuff to keep track of. Actually if they could just take over some of my actual responsibilities as well, that would be great.

galileogirl's avatar

Grader. I have TA’s but they are basically useless. I have a semi-monthly ‘mald’ and a personal trainer but a driver and a cook/dietician would be nice. Especially the cook because I only cheat when no one is looking.

bodyguard, I actually need several of them right now (can only afford one, and he’s just part-time)
private investigator
press manager

augustlan's avatar

Clone. They could do all the work, while I have all the fun.

fireside's avatar

@augustlan – sign me up when you go to the store for your clone. i’ll take one of you too.

fireinthepriory's avatar

@augustlan Aw, I’d feel bad for my clone! And what if it turned out afterwards that YOU were the clone and just didn’t know? How guilty would you feel for making the real you do all that work while you, the clone, had all the fun? And more importantly, do you TELL yourself that you’re actually the clone or do you let the original you toil so you don’t have to become the work clone? It’s a world fraught with terribly choices as soon as you bring clones into it.

augustlan's avatar

Ok… make it an android, then :)

Dorkgirl's avatar

I’d choose someone who would make me good food so I’d stop eating junk when feeling tired or lazy.

fireinthepriory's avatar

@augustlan Androids are perfectly acceptable. :)

Dog's avatar

Androids sound real good!

scamp's avatar

@dragonflyfaith don’t worry. I’ll be there soon, and you don’t have to pay me!! Make sure you stock up on detergent and fabric softener , because I know I’ll be doing lots of laundry!

I would want a masseuse!!

dragonflyfaith's avatar

@scamp I have 35 lbs of detergent. ;)

LuvBubble's avatar

I would hire maid, as I really hate to clean.
