Do you have people in your life that you "share a brain" with?

Asked by mjchatter (433points) February 28th, 2009

My kids and I are extremely close – so close that we joke that we have ONE brain. Do you find that with people? Not just talking at the same time but sometimes it is like we “know” something but we don’t know why – we’re just channeling one of the other of us. (smile)

Yes. After being married for a decade my wife and I are able to communicate complex thoughts with just the twitch of an eyebrow. XD

My best friend and I are like that. It’s actually eerie sometimes.

I thought it over and it would be a little frightening to think what it would be like if I shared a brain with someone. I don’t even know what I’m doing and thinking half the time and if I coupled that with someone who had the same tendencies, there would be no telling what misfortunes could or would arise.

I’ll get a desire for a particular food and a woman I know will inevitably bring some over or call and ask if I want to go out for some without us ever communicating about it.

One of my best friends and I are like that – sometimes, it’s scary.

My husband and I have reached a point where we can communicate, without ever fully finishing a though. Kind of neat.

I had a boyfriend in high school that would hand me things, and verbally answer questions I hadn’t asked yet.

I guess I kind of share with someone, they don’t have a brain of their own, and consults with me on everything…

I’m like that with a lot of people. I’ve never been able to decide if it’s because I’m especially sensitive to others or if I’m just pathetically unoriginal.

My husband and my mother. My husband often answers questions or makes comments about things I haven’t said. My mother and I have often picked up the phone to call each other only to discover that the other person is already on the line.

I have a friend like that, & the scary thing is that we met on AV. We’ve never met in person. We IM every night & we’ll both type the exact same things at the same time. Then we type “sync”. It’s happened dozens of times.

My wife and I are like that, but living with someone for almost three decades will do that. It’s just that we know each other so well that we intuitively respond to each other without words.

I have someone I am so connected to that I can feel when they are happy or sad even when we are miles apart.
