Why do I feel uncomfortable in P.E.?

maybe you have good technique… or your coach is a sexual predator…I would just hope for the good technique.

I would hope so too because shes an adult and a woman. But she always picks me to do everything. That`s why I hate P.E. and let me send you a comment about what happened today.

I’m joking…I’m sure it’s just her thinking you’re a good student and probably set a good example for the rest of the class if she uses you as an example…. or the opposite, thinking she is testing to see if you’d been paying attention.

You might just be the only person whose name she remembers and therefore makes her feel most comfortable directing in front of a group.

No she has know everyone for the same period of time and knows all of us the same except for her daughter that is.

Maybe she wants to make you a supermodel

I’m pretty uncomfortable in PE too, you aren’t alone! I feel like my coach picks me out too, he’ll call me over and talk to me sometimes when we walk the track, or make me team captain when I don’t want to be, or other stuff like that. It isn’t bad, and I don’t think that he means anything by it, but I wish he would ignore me more rather than pitying me or treating me like I’m some lonely kid he needs to be buddies with.

Its pretty natural to feel uncomfortable in PE, especially if you have to change in front of people, and its a class that sort of puts you out there physically. Maybe you remind her of her daughter or a young version of herself? Maybe she just thinks you’re interesting, or maybe you fall funny, (people watch me because I take dodge-balls to the face on a regular basis, and its pretty funny, my coach actually made one kid stop throwing them at me because I was so uncoordinated I didn’t stand a chance.) I hope your class improves!

i would say you defiantly could be ; ) but you never really know. i mean my teacher would always pick me because i didn’t like to be infront of a crowd but i had an amazing throwing arm. In baseball and football, they always made me work on my “stage presence” After junior year i had the confidence to step up and lead the Varsity football team to the state semifinals when i went to high school.
so maybe they see something in you and are trying to refine your skills.

at the risk of sounding like a bit of a perve (i’m way older than you are)... you are a VERY cute girl… the fact that your coach singles you out to me says either you are an amazingly gifted athelete with aspirations in the profesional aspect of your sport of choice…. or your coach is a bit of a predator and may or may not be interested in you as more than a student…

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha very true which is why i was very careful about the words i used…. i said she was too cute for words which i don’t see as anything other than a term of endearment… just like i think dakota fanning is as cute as a button… that doesn’t mean i’m personally attracted to her or flirting/coming on to her.

What has our society come to when you can’t compliment someone without there being speculation as to your intentions?

all I see are avatars and words…I cannot hear tone, I cannot see facial expressions. I only have my perceptions.

I can’t hear tones or see facial expressions, either. It’s just avatars and words for me, too. And I see people telling an attractive kid that she’s cute. I don’t see anyone making comments like “I’D HIT IT!” or “UNF UNF UNF!” or anything like that. As far as I can see, we’re just giving her an honest little ego boost. @Dr_C even made a point of saying it wasn’t meant in a pervy way. I didn’t bother because I kind of assumed it wouldn’t be taken like that since she’s about half my age. I suspect others were operating under the same assumption.

To be honest, the only one I picked up any weird vibe from their text on this thread was from Discover.

Dr C mentioned that part about not being a perve, and well, I know you, MacBean from other threads and found that to be in your personality.

But Discover I don’t know, and found it a bit strange.

Ahhh. Well, that makes more sense, then. I’m familiar with Discover mainly from this thread. I didn’t get anything more than a “Duh, of course you’re cute!” vibe from her.
