Ladies, how often do you shave your legs (assuming that you shave them at all)?

Asked by essieness (7698points) March 6th, 2009

My mom shaves every day. Personally, I only have the patience to do it every few days.

In the winter I do it at least once a week, summer every other day.

In summer, every other day. In winter; When I feel like it.

In the winter…never, haha. I wear pants, so no one else is gonna see or care! But then summer rolls around, and I’m like, “I have to shave all of that off?! o_O I’m too lazy to care during the winter.

But during the summer, probably every two or three days.

Only when I show them, and that is rarely. I have extremely white legs, and I don’t want to blind people.

@tinyfaery: lol.

Being African-American, paleness is not something I can relate to. (We just get ashy, but anyone can get ashy.) I don’t understand…why are some people so self-conscious about being pale? I personally don’t see it as a bad thing.

Every other day, but I only shave my thighs once or twice a week.

I get ashy, and I’m the palest gal.
I shave probably once a month. I don’t have much leg hair. It’s very fine and not dark.

When they start itching?! ;o)

Just when I have to! Like if I have to go to the Doctor or something. Not a big fan of leg shaving.

I don’t know my hair doesn’t grow that fast. But in the winter maybe a week, depending on how gross I feel. You know it starts to feel icky after a long time plus if you don’t do it after a long time you have to sit there for a verrrry long time. The summer probably every few days.

In the winter, only when I must. In the summer, probably once a week or so. I have very blond leg hair, so it’s no biggie if it grows out a little. For underarms, I just shave them every time I take a shower… that way I can never forget to do it.

The men in my family prefer hairy legs. But then, we’re monkeys.

No bicycle racers or wrestlers or swimmers or gymnasts here, so no leg shaving.

In winter, only as necessary. In the summer, every other day.

Since I live in Florida, I wear a lot of shorts, skirts, etc. all year round. I have gotten in the habit of waxing my legs now instead of shaving all the time. It lasts longer and I only have to shave a little in between when necessary. Before I started waxing, I was shaving every other day.

during the winter i dont shave at all, haha
unless im about to wear a dress or skirt or something
and in the summer, same thing

Once or twice a year if I feel like it, regardless of season.

I probably shave less than a half dozen times a year. But I tweaze/pluck some of the more visible hairs every couple of weeks. Sounds a little masochistic/time-consuming, but I think it helps to condition the growth. I also never shave my thighs. That’s peach fuzz at best.

My mom is a bizarre (body) hairless creature. None of my sisters or I were fortunate enough to inherit this trait.

jbfletcherfan's avatar

I have the schedule of Wednesdays & Saturdays. Year round. I can’t STAND hairy legs.

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

@Nimis, there still may be time, my brother in law has a genetically inherited disease where ALL the hair fell out of his body. Funny thing is, the disease didn’t kick in until he turned 50. I’d almost give a few fingers in trade for that condition, as I find hair something better removed than kept.

@evelyns_pet_zebra – There’s a bloke named Matt Lucas (you Little Britain fans know him, the short pudgy one) and he also has alopecia universalis, strangely enough, from complications of an auto accident when he was a boy. If nothing else, it makes it a lot easier for him to get into any sort of wigs and makeup, especially for chav drag! No shaving!

What’s disgusting is your judgment.
