What are some interesting photo story ideas?

Asked by astrofoo (197points) March 7th, 2009

For a photojournalism class I need to have a photo story that I could do possible reshoots on. The one I originally planned to do has fallen through and I need some new suggestions.

Bonus points if you know of someone or something interesting in the DFW area.

To do your best work, it should be something you are interested in. What do you like to shoot?

The sites involved in the Kennedy assassination?

Landscapes.

A cowboy series (you would probably have to go to Ft. Worth to find cowboys).

A series on urban loneliness.

These are just ideas—you can think of one yourself, and the work will be the better for having your passion behind it.

Oooh. Cowboy boots. Black & white.

I don’t know if they have them near you, but here along the highway, people erect miniature shrines to people who died in car accidents at those spots.

African-American church ladies and their hats

Homeless teenagers

I was going to list some things, but I’m a photographer, and I need to shoot my ideas. Look around at fine art, photos by photographers you like and/or want to emulate, films, etc. for inspiration instead of ripping your idea from someone else.
