well toomuchcoffe, as much as I would love to write a paper about myself I have to find an actual biography to read :( so unless you feel like writing one about yours truly, not gunna happen.

Why, I am, of course!!

Seriously, what are your interests/hobbies. Pick someone who has contributed something to those fields.

Che Guevara

edit:
Marie Antoinette
Joan of Arc

I have no idea why these kinds of things are so hard for me. I always seem to be stumped by simple questions like what are your interests/hobbies, then I get stuck in my own head and forget the purpose of my thought process… Hell that’s the reason why I asked fluther for a person.

Benjamin Franklin
Leonardo da Vinci
Galileo Galilei

All amazing and well rounded, with plenty written about them.

All three? Couldn’t it just as easily be “all pre-1900’s”, “All inventors”, “All white”... you can find bias wherever you want, but a list of three historical figures I find interesting doesn’t have an agenda…

Albert Einstein

The person who gave you life…
-your mom (no pun intended)

Well, if you want to do something kind of wacky and definitely interesting, there’s always Wesley Willis

I love reading biographies! Here’s a few of my favorites (and these are all fun, easy reads):

Walt Disney
Jim Henson
Moss Hart (he was a playwright on Broadway in the 30’s and 40’s)

And a few that I own but haven’t read yet:

Dr. Seuss
Damon Runyon (he wrote the stories that Guys and Dolls is based on)

I’m also in the middle of Andrew Carnegie, which is an excellent biography, but it’s very dense – not at all what you want for a book report…

Hope this helps!

Go to the library and browse the biography sections. Everybody has a story. Here’s a list with a bit of range to it:

Albert Schweitzer
Gladys Aylward
Thomas Edison
Marian Anderson
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Henry Ford
Genghis Khan
Ralph Waldo Emerson
John D. Rockefeller
Elizabeth I
Bob Dylan
Albert Luthuli
Pablo Picasso
Lucrezia Borgia
Amedeo Modigliani
Florence Nightingale
Marie Antoinette

I don’t think you’ll have trouble finding interesting articles about him.

The life of Charro and hubby Xavier Cougat. I’ve often wished someone would write a musical about them.

Bulat Okudzhava
Susie Bright

sdeutsch's avatar

@adreamofautumn That reminds me, there’s also Dr. Seuss Goes to War – it’s sort of a partial-biography about Dr. Seuss’ political cartoons during WWII – it’s an amazing book!

I think the Dalai Lama is a neat person. He’s lived an interesting life. Also, John Lennon would always be at the top of my list.
