Who are some people that you believe are experts on anything "mechanical"?

Asked by benchaos (64points) March 9th, 2009

It’s a broad question, I’m doing a semester long theme on “mechanical,” so whether it’s a influential engineer, author, inventor, scholar—anybody that could have dealt with something “mechanical” will do!

David Macaulay comes to mind. He trained as an architect, but has made a reputation by writing and illustrating books for a popular audience that explain how things (and buildings) work.
