What's a good remedy for flu achiness?

Asked by ubersiren (15208points) March 10th, 2009

Tylenol hasn’t worked, boiling tea tree and eucalyptus essential oil hasn’t worked. My usual “hot tea fixes everything” hasn’t worked. I’m dying… eh… I’ll try anything. My back and hips feel like they’re being twisted out of joint. Sitting, laying, and standing all hurt equally.

I take Advil. Works every time for me. Hope you’re feeling better soon!!!

Oh yeah… I guess an anti-inflammatory would work, huh? Now, who wants to go out and get me some?

There is some bad, wicked stuff going around. Head for bed!

Aspirin and tons of water. Most of us are seriously dehydrated.

@SeventhSense: I’ve been drinking so much water I’ve been peeing every 15 minutes. I still feel incredibly thirsty. I don’t know what to do about that.

Thanks all. Hopefully I’ll live to see another day on fluther.

Epsom Salt bath.

Boil tumeric root and ginger root in hot water (tea) for half an hour, then add fresh garlic and lemon and honey to that potion and drink as much as you can. Also heating pad under the hips while in bed is helpful.

Keep drinking and keep peeing. Flush the toxins out.

I asked a question about eye strain several days ago. Today I have the answer; sore throat yesterday, cotton wool brains today, aches, thirst, loss of appetite, nose starting to run and sneezes starting. I am drinking quarts of water with Emergen-C in it and diluted organic grape juice, hot tea, and salt water gargle. And Tylenol at bedtime.

Rest, tea, heating pads. I hope you feel better soon!

Alka-Seltzer Night Time Cold & Flu makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and sleepy inside.

Sleep. That is the best remedy for what you have. I like Aleve for temporary pain relief associated with muscular aches and pains of flu and flu-like symptoms.
Hope you feel better soon!

@ubersiren
You must have been using my keyboard last night. I am all stuffed up, my sinuses are painful. I definitely have some kind of cold.

I could get killed for this…. but there’s something you should all know about the way physicians treat the common cold… we’ve had the cure for years.. but we’re being forced into the same treatment… and now there’s proof!!
