Whats your king grievance at fluther at the moment?

Asked by buster (10274points) March 10th, 2009

Im sick of poll questions of every kind. I have asked them though so I am a hypocrite. I get tired of reading the same questions everyday. Whats your favorite song? Whats your favorite nail color? Do you think weed should be legal? (I love weed by dont want to argue it everyday) Im just one man griping though so feel free to profess your love for polls and tell me to stick it where the pole don’t shine?

Lately, (and by lately I could mean a time period beginning as far back as eight months ago, who knows, I have no sense of time in the real world in relation to Fluther,) I feel like there were more questions that people had that they actually needed answers to. More pragmatic questions, where it really felt good when the question was resolved, and we knew that we _helped) someone in some real, patent way. It’s a nice feeling to know that you helped someone. It brings a better sense of community when you can do that.

Now it seems like every question is about an abstract idea, or is a poll, or a joke. I lie those questions too, but the scales are tipped so heavily in that direction. Those kinds of questions spark debates, that, though captivating and interesting, don’t end with a sense of resolution.

I heart polls!

I’m curious actually about the the idea of sticking something where the pole don’t shine. At this time of year it’s approaching the Equinox so I’d expect there to be sunlight everywhere at least at some point during the day. If it were closer to the December Solstice I’d suggest sticking it in the North Pole. This Summer you can try Antarctica…

I sometimes feel that when I do post questions needing real help or answers, no one responds. Maybe they misinterpret my need for asking or don’t have any input. Who knows? Sometimes I feel my good questions are shunned.
