Asked by LouisianaGirl (1159points) March 17th, 2009

I always hear people say, “If I could go back in time and change this my life would be a whole lot different.” Do you feel this way?

I used to think about this a lot. There are so many things that I wish hadn’t happened in my life thus far… but then again, if I changed those things, would I be who and where I am today? As much as I would like to change my past, I would hate to change my present. So, basically, even if I had the option, I am 99% sure that I wouldn’t change anything in my past. Of course, there’s still that 1% chance..

No changes that were permanent. I might like to experience alternate realities just to see, but then return to my current life.

I’d kill my grandfather.

I’d start working on overcoming my agoraphobia BEFORE it totally derailed my life.

I would of stuck by my ex until things got better, i would of worked harder to improve our relationship,I would of trusted him and believed in him.
I would of called john the night before he got shot like I was going to do, instead of finding out the next day when I tried calling him that I could never speak to him again.
I would of spent more time with my grandpa before he died even though after chemo he didn’t even remember who I was.

August 24, 1978 I would have just let the phone ring, unanswered.

I think @btko is referring to the Grandfather Paradox.

I’d go back to early 1400’s China and, using modern technology for “shock and awe,” convince the Ming Emperor that his destiny lay in sending explorers east across the sea, thus ensuring America was colonized by Chinese before Europeans.
