In YOUR opinion, what is the best Registry Cleaner program?

Asked by creativejuices (490points) March 19th, 2009

I need to do some maintenance and I want to get everyone’s opinions about the best “free” software for cleaning the Registry. I’m looking at TweakNow RegCleaner & RegCleaner. Anyone ever use either of these?

I’ve always use CCleaner. I haven’t tried any of those others. The fact that I didn’t try anything else is a tribute to how much I liked it.

Also, disclaimer, I used it regularly back when I had used Windows. Now I only use it occasionally on other people’s machines.

CCleaner is awesome. Not only does it clean out the registry, but it gets rid of tons of built up crap. Hence the name “Crap Cleaner.”

The first time I ran it on a five year old machine, it got rid of 14gb of garbage. 14gb!!!

Regtool.com It not only cleans registry but all kinds of things..defrags too…but most importantly you can talk to them on line, if you have question or special request..They have helped me to understand and correct things with lots of patience.
