Remedy for dry mouth?

Asked by aviona (3260points) March 20th, 2009

I drink a lot of water, but this medication I’m taking gives me dry mouth as a side effect.

Does anyone know of anything I can do to remedy this or do I just have to live with it?

orange juice,a small amount of salt and some honey.Mix it together and drink should help.
To eat dragon fruit, pineapple and melon may be an idea

This site has lots of ideas… different foods/drinks to stimulate saliva, drugs, and artificial saliva/mouth gel. Good luck!

I take a medication with a side effect of dry mouth.

I always carry chewing gum, use it for about five minutes. Better than taking a drink because it stimulates the salivary glands.

Ring a bell…. you’ll salivate like a dog.

I know that biotine products help a lot with this issue! You can find it at most drug stores, I know Target sells it.
