Why do birds freak out when you climb stairs?

this has happened with every parrot and even my owl.
everytime i climb stairs its even worse when coming back down the stairs,what is it that birds dont like about it

@sandystrachan Are you transporting the bird perched on your hand or shoulder when you climb? My parrot was reluctant at first so I carried him up and down in a small carrier. He wanted to go with me so bad, that his choice became my hand. He now tolerates being hand carried.
