besides fluther, the only web communities i’m actually part of are myspace, facebook, and last.fm.

i don’t really consider last.fm a social website, for me anyway. and i go on facebook to talk to people i don’t talk to outside of facebook, but i’m not a fan of facebook. so myspace. i have a love/hate thing for myspace.

i have a private community of mothers, that i talk to daily.
and then there’s babycenter.com go to the Political Debate board, or The Debate Board, if you want your IQ to drop substantially. Otherwise, it’s a fun site, where I get parenting advice and tips, and enjoy friendship with the ladies on my birth board.

For reasons I am unable to disclose, I can’t tell you the name of the site, but I have been a manager there for the past 5 years. It’s a forum for women.

I enjoy the punks sites. Profane Existence and diyPunks.com.

There are no others before Fluther.

I used to use askville, but after a while all of the questions became about religion and politics.

I did, however, like how they had a point system in which the points could be redeemed for prizes like t-shirts or mugs. I would love to see something like that on Fluther.

facebook mainly, but I think its the devil.

@buckyboy28 You evidentally haven’t been on AV for a long time. The points just keep racking up, but they’re worth squat! There are no mugs or t-shirts. Or anything. The questions now aren’t so much religion & politics, but “could I be pregnant if…....”. It’s ridiculous.

Probably Facebook. I also like to get on my local news station’s site and rile up the locals.

@scamp – I might like a forum for women, why can’t you disclose what it is? Is it run by the CIA or something???

I have a love-hate relationship with Askville, and I have an on-again-off-again thing going on with Facebook. I used to be involved in a couple of bookseller forums but they devolved into folks competing to see how quickly they could make newbies cry, so I left.

I go on Askville other than here but Askville is definitely going down the ‘toilet’ so to speak compared to the way it was 2 yrs ago when I first joined. Almost everyone I know has left.

They don’t have moderators over there that deal with the ‘crap’ or the trolls so it is pretty much a ‘joke’ any more!

I have tried Facebook and just can’t get into that especially now that they have changed it! Too confusing for me, and I don’t go for all the ‘apps’ that a person gets sent!

I would just like a social network to ask/answer questions and also have the opportunity to talk to others not necessarily in a chat room setting with a ‘crowd’ of people though.

@Darwin & Lollipop…..I agree about AV.

For nerds, I really love Hacker News, news.ycombinator.com. They enforce a thoughtful community so you get really great discussions and comments.
