Its the only good thing about Xmas, don’t have much use for the season but the only time you can get eggnog for coffee.

Tricky when homemade (the only kind) and has eggs in it, w/o which, I guess, it would not be eggnog.

regardless of whether the food is store bought or homemade, most everything can be frozen. i have never attempted to freeze homemade nog. i made it once and decided it was easier and just as festive and holidayish to pick it up while right next to it getting milk.

i buy a bunch every season to have throughout the year and i freeze them. right now i have three left over from last year still frozen. unlike milk, nog doesn’t change in taste or texture. if in a plastic jug pour out a 1/4 cup or so to leave room for expansion. if in a cardboard carton, just put it in the freezer unopened: the expansion isn’t enough to burst it and the flavor won’t last. i do the same with apple cider. just have to plan ahead, take it out the night before.

Do you think it would be a good idea to freeze eggnog in ice trays to use later for coffee drinks?
