I just read something with a link to “the wateringhole” which must be the chat, but when I clicked on it, it said I couldn’t go in at this time??? something about being around a few weeks and attacks??

_You need to be an active member of Fluther for a while before you can access the chat now. Once you’ve been around for a few weeks, send a private comment to either johnpowell, delirium or PnL (the chat moderators) and they will give you a link.

Now BOOKMARK the page that link takes you too. We keep it hardish to find for the reasons mentioned above.

Important: Do not bookmark once you are in the room. That doesn’t work from what I’ve been told.

If you look down, Allie posts a link to the chat. I am following that question so it shows up when I want to go in.

@JellyB well, I tried here. My first two Q’s got wiped out and now I can’t join the general discussion. And you know how dangerous I am…I am saddened

@EmpressPixie Tnx for the link! I was waiting for someone to show me where i can log in myself, but then i just read somewhere now that new users can’t access the chatroom without a link, or something….. :)

Honestly, the link to the chat changes a LOT. They usually do a big “okay guys, NEW LINK” question when it changes. But we’ve had issues with a spammer (really, it’s basically been one person) so that’s why it is kind of like a cloak and dagger game to find the thing. When I want to get in, I usually try five old links that all look like they should be right but show no one in the room… sigh.

@EmpressPixie it shouldn’t have to be a Sherlock Holmes routine everytime, but thx for the news. At least I’m not being completely ignored…

@rahb: It’s mostly a Sherlock Holmes routine because I don’t take my own advice and bookmark the thing. So I end up searching old questions and… anyway. A bookmark would solve it. I just don’t.

Edited to add: Actually, while it was up this weekend, I did, I just never have before.
