Where in Long Island will you be? If you’re in Nassau county, the world is your Oyster…..if you’re out on the Eastern Tip, you’ve got limited options.

I am in Melville, yeah i got a car drove up from dc, then will be heading to fredericksburg ,va then heading up to Hazlet New jersey.

Just Google, ( as I almost did). I never heard of Melville. Fredericksburg will be interesting due to the war memorials.

I DEMAND KNICK KNACKS.

@asmonet Suck it! Oh you can’t cause you might get a dry socket…. that’s just a fancy painful way of saying you get extra storage space in your mouth for those winter months :-P

Head up Route 110(Broadhollow Road down near Melville) towards Huntington. Just keep going straight 5 miles maybe?. Could be more or less Huntington is a very nice busy village on the North Shore. Keep driving past Jericho Turnpike, past Huntington Station, past the train station, past the Home Depot and there are many nice little shops that you can walk around and explore in Huntington Village. Make sure you go past Huntington Station and the Home Depot
If you head east on Route 25A you will come to Centerport and there is a beautiful old Vanderbilt estate from the Guilded Age. It’s a Mediterranean style mansion which contains a small museum of Cornelius Vanderbilt’s travels. There’s a lovely view of Long Island Sound and a planetarium on the site. Also if you want to drive west towards Nassau’s North Shore there are some other Gold Coast estates that you can visit-Great Gatsby style.
