If you put all the superheroes in a ring for a cage match who would win?

Asked by J0E (13172points) March 31st, 2009

As much as I hate him I have to take Superman in this fight, he has as many powers as the rest of them combined. State your case for your pick.

IRON MAN

this is a poll question, by the way :)

JellyB's avatar

Superman!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You all know it to be true…...

J0E's avatar

@TaoSan there are plenty of poll questions on here

Why would Iron Man win? I think Superman could take him.

J0E's avatar

@JellyB Superman would win but he is so boring, he’s too perfect.

TaoSan's avatar

@J0E

as I mentioned in the other thread:

Stark Industries has just announced the “Kryptonite Sprayer” ! :)

Blondesjon's avatar

Lobo…he’s kind of a hero sometimes and has whipped Superman’s ass before.

J0E's avatar

@TaoSan I don’t think that would be allowed in a cage match.

JellyB's avatar

@J0E Well, we’ll just give him some red kryptonite before the match, that should spice things up a bit….!

dynamicduo's avatar

Dr Manhattan would win, hands down.

TaoSan's avatar

@J0E

of course it would! No one says the “Powers” must be “natural”, the suit is perfectly within rules!

JellyB's avatar

@TaoSan And that would be cheating! Where are these match rules anyway? I know it says “natural powers only”....

J0E's avatar

@Blondesjon I didn’t know who that was so I looked him up and he is definitely not a hero, therefore he is disqualified.

TaoSan's avatar

@all

Y’all are scared of the suuuuuit, y’all are scared of the suuuuuit nener nener neeeeener

GAMBIT's avatar

The winner and the only one that has any leadership quality would be the one who is smart enough to say “we are suppose to be the good guys and shouldn’t be fighting each other”.

J0E's avatar

@TaoSan I suppose if it was an addon for his suit it would be allowed, since Batman would be allowed to use his gadgets too.

J0E's avatar

@GAMBIT You do realize superheroes aren’t real, right?

TaoSan's avatar

@J0E

Yepp, the two latest additions to the suit are Kryptonite Sprayer and Anti-Arachnid Pesticide GRIN

The pure superiority in mechanical strength shall suffice to crush the flapperbat

squirbel's avatar

um. you asked the question.

J0E's avatar

@TaoSan He would win with his addons, but it would be a cheap victory.

J0E's avatar

@squirbel Yes I did, assuming that we could pretend.

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

In a cage match, I think you have to look at the type of fight it’d be. close quarters, not really any place for cover, and a lot of people all in one small area. So naturally, heros that have powers specific to one on one fighting wouldn’t do well, ie Wolverine and yes, even superman(he’ll have a target on his back because he’s the golden boy of comics as well). On the other hand, heros that have a offensive tools with a wide area of effect(explosions, pyscic powers etc) would have a natural advantage. So I think it comes down to only a handful of dark horse picks, The human Torch, Gambit, and Ironman. And I give the edge to Gambit(afterall, he did blow up a planet for christ’s sake)

Zen's avatar

Very tricky to move here but it won’t help you. You can run, but you cannot hide. You can’t escape Spidey and his kryptonite he keeps in Batman’s utility belt.

Blondesjon's avatar

@JOE…I disagree. He had his own comic series and was an anti-hero but never a villian. You could claim that Batman is an anti-hero by Superman’s lofty standards.

Or how about Jean Grey as the Dark Pheonix? She would destroy Superman.

phoenyx's avatar

Superman has one key vulnerability: magic. Dr. Strange or any number of other magic using superheroes would take him out easily.

dynamicduo's avatar

Dr Manhattan has been transformed and is now something beyond human. He cannot be killed. I see no way how he could be defeated, beyond himself throwing in the towel. He could disintegrate the entire stadium and all of its contents one microsecond after they started.

TaoSan's avatar

@J0E

I’m sure hookers and black jack would make his quarrels about having had a cheap victory go away in no time! ;)

J0E's avatar

@Blondesjon Anti-hero=hero? I don’t think so, that’s why they put ‘Anti’ in front of it. Besides, Batman had his own set of high morals, he never killed anyone and he always saved people, he is a hero.

GAMBIT's avatar

@J0E – What do you think?

Blondesjon's avatar

@JOE…Then my money is on Jean Grey.

J0E's avatar

What do I think? Well at first I took Superman, but now I like Wolverine or Iron Man.

J0E's avatar

@Blondesjon That’s a good pick.

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

@joe batman killed people before, the cartoons and live action movies don’t do him justice. The comics are far more brutal and dark.

Blondesjon's avatar

I was going to ask if adamantium is actually tougher than Superman’s skin. If so than Wolverine by default.

wolverine would open iron man like a can of bitch-boy-ardee

J0E's avatar

@ABoyNamedBoobs03 He never killed anyone unless he absolutely had to, plus I think some of the newer comics have portrayed him wrong. Have you seen the original comics, that Batman would never kill anyone.

GAMBIT's avatar

@J0E – I think the winner and the best would not fight another superhero. If he is true to himself.

You asked if I believe they are real of course I know that they are not real but even if this was characters from The Iliad and the Odyssey I would not want to read that they destroyed each other in some barbaric cage match like some Oriental cock fight only to declare who was best on one given day.

J0E's avatar

@GAMBIT Granted they probably wouldn’t fight eachother, but in this fictional scenario who would win?

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

oh the old comics made him pretty brutal, he had his set of morals but so do all anit-heros, that’s why everyone still likes them. Think bruce willis in die hard, he doesn’t want anything to do with this whole saving the day thing, but no one else will do it he says. He has a set of morals despite being an Anti-Hero

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

And how do we go about deciding which sources of material to hold as the right one? certain comics portray heros one way, others differently, and still movies and cartoons in a much different way. For instance, in the movie IronMan is a hero, but in these comics Marvel did called “Civil War” Iron Man is the villian.

Zen's avatar

Tyler Durdon.

J0E's avatar

@ABoyNamedBoobs03 I going to go ahead and use the comics that Bob Kane the creator made and use them as the original material. Granted, that is a boring Batman but it is what he creator wanted.

Blondesjon's avatar

@Zen…I am Jack’s bloody knuckles.

GAMBIT's avatar

@J0E – I stated three times the winner is the one who has the ability to stop the useless cage match from starting. If we were talking about villains I would say it makes sense that they would fight each other for there is no honor among thieves but a hero should be better than that.

J0E's avatar

@GAMBIT Okay, well I guess you aren’t willing to play along.

GAMBIT's avatar

@J0E – I am playing JOE why do you think I took this stand? Come on man somebody’s got to do it.

Triiiple's avatar

If you said natural powers then it would have to be Superman but he can be stopped by some Kryptonite.

Batman has no powers and someone mentioned Wolverine, his power is just regeneration and his adamantium was added (not fitting the natural thing). Spider-Man would also be disqualified as how are his powers natural if they were the result of some accident?

Should clarify this cage match and its rules.

zephyr826's avatar

I’m rooting for the “Mystery Men.” Yes, I realize that they’re not “official” superheros but they saved Champion City and star in my personal favorite superhero movie.

:)

Maldadpermanente's avatar

The Invisible Girl.

madcapper's avatar

The Hulk. He only gets more and more powerful the more pissed he gets. He is pretty much invincible. So is Superman but he’s cheap. Or Magneto because he would take the cage and wrap everyone in it and then rip all the iron out of their blood stream haha

TaoSan's avatar

Iron Man will invite them all to his huge private jet with the retractable stripper pole and the fight is OVER!

dalepetrie's avatar

Aquaman only if the cage was undewater

fireside's avatar

Captain America
Assuming “all superheroes” includes alive and dead

RealEyesRealizeRealLies's avatar

Naruto Uzumaki rules all. Now that we’ve settled that… Race Bannon or Racer X?

But let us not forget that Astro Boy is on the mend and will be with us soon enough. That child would demolish Iron Man. Advantage goes to he who is less hungover.

RealEyesRealizeRealLies's avatar

Oh… and Spawn… and HellSing… would both make short work out of all… except perhaps for Naruto Uzumaki.

J0E's avatar

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies I think you forgot the “hero” part…

RealEyesRealizeRealLies's avatar

What qualifies as hero?

asmonet's avatar

I was gonna say Batman but then I saw this.

J0E's avatar

@asmonet haha, nice

RealEyesRealizeRealLies's avatar

That may reject HellSing. But it does not affect Spawn and especially not Naruto Uzamaki.

Iron Man is an openly bad boy.

VzzBzz's avatar

The Apocalypse- he brings the purity of Oblivion, after all

J0E's avatar

@VzzBzz I’m not familiar with him.

J0E's avatar

@VzzBzz well he definitely looks badass enough to win.

kevinhardy's avatar

Morpheus The Sandman, shaboom , shaboom

Blondesjon's avatar

If we are going outside the realm of comic books than Brock Sampson would ahniliate the whole lot of them.

asmonet's avatar

Okay, no combination heroes.
They don’t count.

Staalesen's avatar

The punisher…. take a look at the Punisher kills the marvel universe spinnoff :p
