What are the chemicals in cosmetics that have been outlawed in Europe and maybe soon in California?

Other countries have outlawed certain chemicals in cosmetics and healthcare products that are considered unsafe. Companies will often market one version of a product in Europe and another for version for the US market. Remind me what to watch for and avoid.
