I can try a new recipe this year with the little preschooler. Other responses will save for future uses.

This is our favorite recipe. It have an usual ingredient, saltine cracker. It holds all the gooey stuff at the bottom well. Enjoy!

My sister in law’s Goodies

2 cubes of butter (plus one tablespoon of melted butter for greasing pan)
1 cup light brown sugar
Saltine crackers
12 oz. bag of semi sweet chocolate chips
Chopped or whole shelled walnuts

Preheat oven at 450 degrees. In a small saucepan, over low heat, melt butter and brown sugar. Butter bottom of a rectangular baking pan, line up saltines (salt side up). Pour melted butter and brown sugar over saltines. Bake for 4 minutes. take out pan and pour chocolate chips over ovenly. Bake for 1 minute. Take out pan and spread chocolate evenly with a knife and pour walnuts over evenly. Press down walnuts with a fok. Cool in refrigerator until slightly firm. Cut into squares. It might be easier to cut with a pizza cutter. Enjoy.
