Suggestions for cheap hotels/inns in Rome, Italy?

Asked by omfgTALIjustIMDu (9272points) April 11th, 2009

My parents are going for 3 or 4 days in a couple weeks, and are looking for a cheap, nice place to stay in Rome that is in a nice neighborhood and is within walking distance to major sites.

there is no such thing in Rome, everything is super overpriced :s you can check the nytimes travel section, they have some cool tips, but you won’t find anything under 100 euros… if you want a walking distance place to major sites, expect to pay well above 300.00 euros… For a decent stay (nothing extravagant) your parents will need +/- 60.00 euros/each a day for m&ie + another 30.00 for museum tickets and other stuff like tips for the guides for example, that makes around 200.00+hotel*days they will stay…

“Cheap” and “Rome” are mutually exclusive terms.
