Are any bounty hunters chasing Osama bin Laden?

Asked by scienceNYC (78points) December 3rd, 2007

The U.S. State Department has issued reward of up to $25 million reward for information leading to the apprehension of Osama bin Laden. Are any non-governmental entities actively pursuing this bounty? How much do you think it would cost to capture him? What about others on the FBI most wanted list? What was the biggest reward ever paid by the Rewards For Justice Program and to whom was it paid?

I doubt the US is is actively pursuing OBL. He is a great boogie man. Politically it is best to let him release videos when you need a boost in the polls. <wink – wink>

This didn’t answer your question but I do think the government benefits from the fear of him not getting caught. And they are happy to keep it that way.

With that kind of reward money, there’d have to be somebody hunting that bounty, wisely keeping quiet about it.

The real question should be “Why hasn’t those closest to OBL turned him in for the money?” I think it’s because everybody’s in each other’s business and nobody knows who to trust.

You can’t catch a dead man.
