What's the best fancy restaurant in San Francisco?

I heard millenium is amazing but i have never been. Its all vegan but dont be scared, i think meat eaters love it too.

Del Fina, or Chez Panisse

I’m partial to Michael Mina myself, but if you really can collect on anything, try and drag them up to French Laundry across the water.

I like Aqua. I don’t know if it’s the BEST but it’s hecka darn good. Mostly seafood.

I ate at Millenium once and was underwhelmed. I’d be fine never eating there again.

Greens is also 100% delicious. Mostly (totally?) vegetarian.

In the East Bay, I love Rivoli in Berkeley.

I like The Slanted Door.

Boulevard is a hot spot right now. I had lunch there the other day and every dish was delicious, prepared and served just so. Great wine, also. The server knew her stuff and was extremely helpful, over the top. We liked our black napkins too, no white fuzz left on our black clothing! (Not every table had the black, maybe just for the bigger groups?)
