Videographers- I need to purchase a dependable, portable hard disk DVR with a coaxial (RF) input. Any Suggestions?

Asked by Knotmyday (7516points) April 17th, 2009

I like my little Sony GV-D1000, but MiniDV tapes are starting to pile up everywhere, and frankly, sometimes they just screw up. I’m tired of the hassle, that’s why we photogs all switched to digital SLRs in the first place, right?
Is there anything comparable to the old Sony, yet with a hard disk, multi-gig drive? Say there is…

I have looked everywhere & cannot find a hard drive with coaxial input. Do they exist? I think the best bet, is to find the hard drive that fits to your needs & then put it into an external case that has all the ports & features you want, so you can connect the hard drive into whatever device you want.
