Are any females taking Glucophage?

Ok, I went to the gyn. today and he perscribed me Glucophage to bring my blood pressure down. My blood pressure spiked due to the birth control I am taking to regulate my hormones due to PCOS. I’m still not real sure how this is suposed to help. He was talking about doing an IUD but decided against it because of severe cramping. If anybody has any information about this drug, please help!!

I just looked the drug up and it controls blood sugar levels. However, I have never had a problem with blood sugar.
