Is my mouse (computer peripheral) messing with me, and if so, how?

Asked by sebulba23 (78points) April 23rd, 2009

I have a synaptics touchpad mouse for a Dell E1505 laptop. Every so often, when I watch a Youtube video, for example, my scroll function will not work. However, when I do a few searches on Google for various things, it will. Yet, not on the first try. But, always (whether I search first or a few searches later) when I search for “scroll mouse not working”, it instantly starts to allow me to scroll. WTH?? Anybody else experience this?

Check for driver updates.

Is the cursor over the YouTube video when you’re trying to scroll? The Flash player might be screwing up the scrolling. Try it.
