Best disk burning software?

Asked by Daethian (334points) May 5th, 2009

I have nero 7 essentials and I need something that does all cd/dvd burning and will let me create an ISO image. I want something really good but not overly complicated.

So you want to rip dvds.

Don’t do anything illegal now.

Nero’s really a heavy bit of software, isn’t it? I personally have Adobe Premier, but unless someone gets that for you, that’s a big chunk of change.

This, though, is free if you have Windows XP!

Here is a list of other free burning programs, and there’s also a link on the page to free authoring programs.

Handbrake’s where it’s at for ripping DVD’s.

CD burning, though, I would just use aprilsimnel’s recommendations.

ImgBurn is great. You can make, open and burn .iso’s with it, and it is free and open source.

I’m not looking to rip. I have Handbrake but haven’t figured out how to use it LOL
I just want to burn, backup and ISO create. The interface needs to be kindergarten easy cuz I don’t have time to sit and learn new software just to burn an ISO.

I’ll look at the suggestions given thanks.

You need the free one?
CDBurnerXP is quite good (http://cdburnerxp.se)
And InfraRecorder (http://infrarecorder.org)

I tried CDBurnerXP at work just for burning and I liked it alot.
Didn’t try the ISO creation yet.
