Asked by Triiiple (1356points) May 13th, 2009

I love Waffle Crisp Cereal but i can only find it when i come to New York City. They didnt sell it in Miami nor do they sell it in Orlando.

Because their market research tells them it won’t sell well overall there.

some stores or restaurants stock according to demand. sometimes it’s a geographical thing as well. what you can get in one state, you can’t in another because there is no market for the “taste” or product.

in chicago, you can just about get anything you want. but go to the same store or fast-food joint downstate and it does not exist. in the big city, you can get a steak and egg bagel at mcdonald’s, but try ordering that on a road trip down south. the girl at the counter looks at you like you are from another planet.

or how about this: i can get a veggie sandwich with fresh spinach at “subway” in and around chicago, but in springfield, IL, ain’t no spinach to be had at subway.
