Am I supposed to be on my period?

Hey! I just started this birth control pill( ive never used the pill before) and I’m half way on the strip but I got my period while I’m still taking the white pills. Is that normal? Am i not supposed to get my period when i’m on the iron pills? I’m confused lol.
