If you live in San Francisco, contact the Bay Area Video Coalition and ask about the ETP program ( i think it stands for employee training program?). The government will approve of certain CA based companies to receive free training. There are probably other places besides BAVC where you can get the training—they may be able to tell you. at BAVC you can take classes in web design, video, audio, podcasting, and some other topics too (but not basic computer skills like excel, powerpoint, word processing). I think this ETP program covers businesses in CA that have a certain number of employees, so if you work for a small company it might not be of use. BTW, if you are in SF and your company does not qualify for this grant, check out the City College brochure. I believe there are a number of courses re: computer skills that are free or have a very nominal cost, like $25 a credit.
