Where's a good place to go on vacation in the U.S.?

I’m looking for a cool place to go to here in the U.S. by myself for the first time ever. I can’t remember the last time I ever went on vacation. I’m going through a painfull divorce and I know I need to go somewhere where I can get my mind off of all the b.s. . Any suggestions?
