Where can I buy a delicious vegan cake in Charlotte, NC?

Asked by eadinad (1278points) May 19th, 2009

I’ve tried baking vegan cakes several times, and they’re fine. But I want that store-bought, bakery goodness – rich, dense, moist, tall, with fluffy icing… you catch my drift.

Is there anywhere I can find this in Charlotte? Or does it not really even exist…

I don’t believe you could find a cake like that anywhere in the world, much less Charlotte, NC. I’ve never tasted any vegan baking that wasn’t dry and heavy.

From http://www.vegancharlotte.com/, it looks like “Sweet Art” on Pecan street makes vegan cakes.

I live in Charlotte (just outside of Charlotte), I’ve had a few cakes from Sweet Art, they are fantastic. Their cookies are great, too. If you have a regular bakery that you like, ask if they make vegan cakes, a lot of them will accommodate your request. I’m trying to remember the place that made the best vegan carrot cake I’ve ever had. If I remember, I’ll post the link.

Awesome. I think I’m actually gonna be over by Pecan tomorrow.

There’s a new catering service called Your Veganesse, divine desserts, which has cakes, pies and tarts. You can place an order online through their website: www.yourveganesse.com and then schedule when to deliver or pickup.
They use as healthy ingredients as possible and the cakes taste like the original!
