What do you think about bachelor parties?

Asked by hondagirrlx (87points) May 22nd, 2009

Okay.. so we are already married but are planning a big wedding next year for family and friends bc we just did it quick at the courthouse, but anyway, we both decided that we wouldnt have bachlor parties we would just do one big party together.. and a lot of his friends are saying that they are going to take him out and go to strip clubs and all this.. its really annoying me because he tells me he doesnt want to go but then when they bring it up to him he says that it sounds like a good idea.. I happen to get pretty jealous and hate the idea of him going to a strip club.. he has never done anything to make me not trust him but I feel like if he goes there something will happen.. and I also feel like Im a girl and we’ve been together a long time, but I never feel the need to go to a strip club and look at a bunch of naked guys dancing around.. why does he feel the need to go to a strip club and watching a bunch of girls dance around naked? It just doesnt seem fair to me and I dont know what to do.. I dont want to be the nagging wife and tell him not to go, but I feel like if he really respects me and the way I feel about it then he shouldnt.. help please.

You should never have a big wedding “for other people.” And that includes having a bachelor party for someone that’s already married. Most guys that I know at work who have gotten married do not have that type of bachelor party. He’s not a bachelor, and you’re no longer a bride…

Your man clearly wants a bachelor party. The bachelor party is a huge rite of passage in a mans life. It’s the last time, so long as you are both married, that he’s going to be able to go out and party with all his guy friends and it’s usually a big blow out. He’s all yours afterward.

Faulty logic, @The_Compassionate_Heretic. He can do it any time one of his friends gets married and and has a batchelor’s party. “He ain’t no batchelor.”

I don’t have any issue with men (or women) going to a strip club for a night of fun. It’s all about watching not doing. Now, if they wanted to pick up a few hookers for a night of fun, it’d be a different story.
