What are some good underground bands?

I am on a search for new music. Any genre. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Atmosphere – Which Unfortunately is a little more mainstream now.
Felt (which is the main dude from Atmos, and Murs)
Brother Ali
Aesop Rock
Eyedea and Abilities
Soul Position
Sage Francis

Those are my FAV’s
(all hiphop, and all brilliant.)

Classifying music is so subjective, but I think The New Pornographers are still considered indie. I’m less certain of The Shins and Margot & The Nuclear So & So’s, but its all great music. See ya…wtf

Depending on the genre your looking for indie and electro is an excellent site, check out there online radio slots for the pick of the fresh stuff also BBC the greatest broadcasting organisation in the world you can listen online Kissy Sell Out and my favorite Collin Murray you can stream all their shows online here in or outside of the UK.

Not a specific band recommendation, but I find that checking out music sites like Pandora and are great for finding new-to-you bands. Those allow you to enter a band or song you already like, and they generate a station based on your selection with many different artists (and they’re free to listen to online).

Pandora is only available for americans nowadays. It was very good. Prefer Spotify though.
