How to share a printer over wifi?

Asked by africansk8er (2points) December 24th, 2007

I have a Windows XP computer hooked up to an HP printer with a Windows 98 computer downstairs. The older one is on a wifi network, but I want to allow it to print stuff to printer upstairs. How would I set it up to get it to print over the wifi network? Is there some kinda program that would do this for me? Thanks.

When combining XP and 98, it’ll be easier to have the printer hooked up the XP machine. Then just go into the Control Panel under Printers and Faxes. Right click the printer you want to be available on the network and within it’s properties you can enable sharing. As for adding the printer for use on the 98 machine, the instructions are here: link
