Why do people still hold hope that there might be Wiis the day before Christmas?

Asked by Leminnes (33points) December 24th, 2007

I work at a Gamestop in Florida and not only had we gotten multiple calls asking if we had Wiis but DSs, 360s, and PSPs (we have PLENTY of PS3s although we did sell two because parents were desperate.) Shouldn’t people know they are all gone by now or are they FAR too optimistic?

If a Wii is what their children want most, parents will exercise all options to get one, even one so desperate as calling the day (or night) before Christmas. If they don’t succeed, they’re faced with guilt and disappointing the child on Christmas morning.

And it’s not just Wiis. One year it was Furby, another year Tickle Me Elmo.

Wii just happens to be the ‘must-have’ toy of Christmas 2007.

Actually, the Wii was just the same last year. If you remember.

I was in my local GameStop today, picking up some XBox 360 games. They actually had 2 Wii units in stock and both were being sold while I was in line. So, I guess it does pay to check the store on X-Mas Eve!

I was at a Best Buy today (unfortunately), and they had 5 or 6 Wii’s available….
