Has anyone else noticed how crabby school secretaries seem to be?

From the secretary at my boys’ preschool, to their elementary school in California, to their school here in the Midwest, the secretaries have all been cranky. Has this been your experience? I have spoken to other moms, including my sisters, who have noticed the same thing. Why do you think this is the case?
