Why poke if you're already Facebook friends?

Asked by kevbo (25672points) December 26th, 2007

We chatted. I poked. I got a friend request, which I accepted (so we became friends), and then I got a poke. Now what?

I’m a FB noob, and I don’t expect this to be a question rich with subtlety, I’m just wondering what the point of poking is if you’re already friends and what would be a decent response?

Poke = Didn’t have anything important to say, just wanted to let you know you we’re on my mind.
