Is it important to avoid all phthalates? Or just the ones that are on the "watch list"?

Asked by jdegrazia (274points) June 5th, 2009

I’m getting some tee shirts made, and I’ve asked my printer to use the most healthy and environmentally friendly inks. She doesn’t seem to think it’s important to go with the more expensive, 100% phthalate-free ink. My sense is to go 100% phthalate-free anyway. But now I’m worried about what the ink makers use in place of phthalates…

The easiest way to answer this is to say that there are no ‘good’ phthalates. Some might pose less of a risk (probably due to lower prevalence) but phthalate free is the way to be.
