How do you promote yourself so you're the one people are looking for?

Have a skill that is in demand and excel at it. If you’re technical, you prove it by writing papers that get referenced, obtaining patents or producing original work.

Be honest, and good at what you do. Network, and help other people. Your work should speak for itself, and eventually the people you have worked with/for will be your primary vechical for promotion. And of course, have a website.
