too much spicy food can sometimes cause stomach ulcers or cause one to have acid reflux. it also concerns me that you love the shit out of spicy food. strangely worded heh. Which brings around to the other downside of lots of spicy food. Spicy shits. Not Fun

But, on the positive side, spicy foods have been known to raise one’s metabolism, which is helpful for people who have a low metabolism.

Spicy foods will also clear sinuses but if you have had systemic chemo, chances are that your mucus membranes throughout the entire digestive system, from mouth to rear end, has gotten sensitive. And if you already have problems w. acid reflux (or heatburn, as it used to be known), hot spicy food will exacerbate esophagus….very uncomfortable.

The perception of “spicy”, as in “hot”, is actually an allergic reaction. If your reaction is mild, you are probably OK. If it is severe, then you are not. I do know that, if I have a head cold and I’m stuffed up, a few bites from a holly will clear me up faster than Sudaphed!
