Facebook offers mobile which means you can get information about you sight over the phone so is it free to verizon or does is charge? It says facebook does not charge for this service. Standard messaging reates apply.

no, there is a mobile application to use with Facebook. For that you need to have a phone like a blackberry or an iphone, and you also need a data plan (not the same as a text messaging plan). At verizon, the data plans run 20–30$ on top of your phone plan.

now, facebook might allow you to update your status via text message. in that case, you would be charged a text message for each time you send or receive a text message from facebook. on verizon, a text, if you don’t have a texting plan, can be somewhere around .20/message.
