Which classic show should be added to the 'Nick-at-Nite' lineup?

Asked by siilver (273points) June 24th, 2009

Sometimes I wonder why Nick-at-Nite plays two to three hours of the same thing. What should they add to make it worth watching?

Replace everything currently on there with:

Barney Miller
Get a Life
Police Squad!
All in the Family
Cheers
The Office

I’d watch every night.

The Nanny
Home Improvement
Fresh Prince
Family Matters
Rossanne

@johnpowell They are already there

I was making a bad joke. That is what I do.

And I tickle strangers too. Little things make me happy.

Another vote for Barney Miller.

Also; M*A*S*H (if it isn’t already).

Taxi
Bilko
Bosom Buddies
SportsNight
Ed Sullivan

I have no idea what is on now.

The Monkees, so I can get my Mike Nesmith fix. OMG, he was soooo cute! And they should play the originally-run commercials for any program they air.

Bakersfield PD
Scrubs
Frasier
It’s Garry Shandling’s Show or Larry Sanders

@dalepetrie, Get a Life!! Best. Show. Ever.

I always wondered why no one did Pettycoat Junction reruns.

All in the Family

@SuperMouse

I don’t think we need another place for Scrubs reruns… They’re everywhere already…

Are cartoons allowed?
They should bring back Rocko’s Modern Life and Ren & Stimpy. They were the best.

Angry Beavers, too

Judi's avatar

If cartoons then I want UNDERDOG back!

dalepetrie's avatar

@SuperMouse – wish they would just put it out on DVD already. I had to buy a bootleg copy.

filmfann's avatar

Rocky and Bullwinkle!

SuperMouse's avatar

@dalepetrie I had to do that with Bakersfield PD – another fabulous short lived show from Fox’s early days. When I pull out of the driveway I still give a “friendly toot on the horn.”

Another good one that hasn’t been rerun anywhere in quite some time is Soap. That was a great show.

cookieman's avatar

@filmfan: Nice!

Judi's avatar

@dalepetrie ; anyone under 45 won’t have a clue what SOAP was, just like Petticoat Junction.

That Uncle Joe is movin’ kinda slow.

dalepetrie's avatar

@Judi – I’m 38, and it was one of my all time favorite shows.

That 70’s show!

tiffyandthewall's avatar

when i was younger, they used to play a lot of great shows. what happened to them?
the facts of life, gilligan’s island, cheers, wkrp in cincinnati, taxi, all in the family, the jeffersons, i love lucy

there are a few more i know i’m missing. some of those have been moved to tv land, but nick at nite is seriously lacking in the department of awesome lately—though i love roseanne, and sometimes the fresh prince.

i’m kind of baffled by some of the answers this has gotten. that 70s show? scrubs? the office? all good shows, but none of those belong anywhere near nick at nite.

@tiffyandthewall ; the problem with getting older is that thinks that are considered recent to you are considered old to someone younger. Welcome to adulthood!

Welcome Back Cotter
The Partridge Family
I Love Lucy and The Lucy Show
