Do's and Don'ts for IT training classes?

Asked by Daethian (334points) June 24th, 2009

My new company wants me to start holding 3 hour training classes on how to use our network and some other basic computer stuff.

What advice can you give me for what works and what doesn’t?

Look at Apple online help, and write your materials accordingly. Do it step-by-step, and let everyone do hands on lessons. Let them ask questions. Do a follow-up survey from the first class to see if you should change anything. If you uses Sharepoint, create a training site they can reference back to.

Do more practical than talking. People tend not to understand what you are talking about till they see it & try it on their own.
