Get a small part time job and make some money! Not only will working cause you to enjoy your free time more, but you’ll have money to further have fun and boredom will be a thing of the past.

No! Not working, I disagree completely. I quit my job that i’ve had for a year just to make good use of summer. I’ll list some things I enjoy

- Pot
– Frisbees
– Camping
– Working out/fitness
– The beach
– The beach again
– Build a potato cannon
– Paintball

I’ll think of more later

I definitely agree with @dynamicduo. I’m working 20 hours a week (4 hours a day, Mon-Fri) and it gives me a good amount of spending money while not cutting too much into free time, and I have weekends all to myself.

As for things to do, it depends on your area. If you live in a city, or at least a suburban area, there’s always the beach or a community pool, zoo and/or aquarium, hanging out for free at a park, reading at a library, bike riding or walking on trails…if you have the money you could take a small road trip somewhere for the day, depending on your interests. Camping, like @TabernakAttack said, is a good idea too.

Paint your toe nails, put on a nice dress and for god sake straighten out the garage. :-)

Occasionally do something for someone else, an older person, for example. Self-involvement is fun but so is altruism. A nice balance may make a nice summer.

My daughter is spending her summer:
practicing for kickball (she is on the All Stars team),
going to the beach with friends,
going to the movies with friends,
going to the pool with friends,
working out at the gym,
reading,
doing stuff through church (volunteer work, attending camp in New Mexico as a camper, attending camp near town as a counselor, and painting houses for needy/elderly/disabled folks),
learning to cook new recipes,
hiking with friends,
going to Saturday evening beach bonfires with friends,
going to summer baseball games with friends,
admiring a certain baseball player from afar,
riding her bicycle,
watching DVDs,
texting,
visiting her friends at their work places (briefly and to buy something, not to interfere with their work),
sporadically cleaning her room,
getting ready to go to yet another camp to be a counselor in training,
and window shopping at the mall.

Later this summer she is supposed to start volunteering at our local children’s hospital. She has a full life. Perhaps some of her activities might suit you.

fall in love. have as much sex as possible! Do all kinds of shit with your beloved. Then it won’t matter what you do, you’ll be together, and that’ll make you deliriously happy!

Depending on how old you are, of course. Also, don’t try this at home!

Get a part time job to have a little extra cash and do all the things you dream of doing while you’re young. The sky’s the limit. Absolutely any fucking thing you want to do! You’ll be glad you did later.

You should volunteer some of your time to a non profit organization. It’ll make you feel good about yourself and you’ll be helping others.

It’s fun to take on a big reading project in the summer. Summer is great for the great Russian classics. Also, fun to see lots of movies. Maybe take on some other challenge for yourself that you never thought you could do—like learning a language.

Well, you shouldn’t make multiple accounts on Fluther and post nonsense questions.
