Shouldn't H2O be in liquid state after hydrogen and oxygen react?

Asked by julia999 (343points) July 8th, 2009

Hi there!
There’s the following equation in my textbook:
2H2(g) + O2(g)—> 2H2O(g)
Why is water written in gas form? Shouldn’t it become a liquid after hydrogen gas and oxygen gas react?

Thanks in advance!
p.s. could it be a typo?
