Online reading list that can be integrated with my website?

Asked by Warpstone (149points) July 8th, 2009

Can you suggest an online reading list site where I can list books I’ve read, am reading and intend to read? The deal breaker is whether or not the site offers an API or RSS feed of my content that I can integrate into my own website.

I am unfamiliar with all of these, but LibraryThing, Shelfari, and Goodreads seem to be what you’re looking for. Not sure about the export, though. I think GoodReads does that.

http://books.livingsocial.com integrates into Facebook, and has export capabilities. I can’t find a specific API or RSS feed listed, but if you contact them they may be willing to work with you. If they won’t, you could use their facebook “wall feed”, and scrape the updates from your facebook wall. It wouldn’t be too hard, I wouldn’t think.
