Oh, get an iPhone, Disco. That’s what all the cool people have.

Can’t believe you’re on this site. :)

I was like oh, look at this good looking blonde fellow answering my question… wait… Dominic… HOLY SHIT.

Oh, why thank you. I am quite stunning in appearance. Now I’ve graduated high school and am going to Stanford! I’m still 17, though, oh man…

family reunion?? : )
I’d rather get the iPhone as well

discoinferno's avatar

Stanford! noiiiiice. you always make me proud lelac.
I tried finding your ass on facebook a couple times to no avail.

and regarding the iphone.. I was considering that, but I think the touch screen would annoy me?

Tink's avatar

Oh, so just a regular blackberry? I’d go with the Blackberry Curve

@discoinferno

Well, have you used touch screen much?

I don’t think it’s as bad as people think. The keyboard, I suppose, is technically not as easy to use as a real keyboard, but you do get used to it and you type pretty fast. The only cons to the iPhone as far as I’m concerned is that the battery doesn’t last too long and it does need to be charged frequently.

Nah doesn’t have to be “regular”, the curve looks nice. And @ lelac, no, the phone I have now doesn’t have touch screen and I’m not really used to it. I’ve tried typing on an iphone before and I would like, hit two letters at once and stuff. pretty irritating.

@discoinferno

I tend to type on it with one finger, my index. I’m not sure if that’s ideal, but it gets the job done. My fingers are not that big, though, it’s kind of easy. I type with two thumbs too. Practice makes slight improvement.

Right well I’ll have to think about it. A girl I work with has a blackberry (along with the rest of the population) and typing on it was really easy when I tried. Not sure how much “more” it costs per month, nor how that compares to the cost of the Iphone…

As an ex-iphone owner and a current blackberry storm owner, I would definitely recommend going with the iphone. I dropped mine from my ear onto concrete, which broke the screen. I cant wait til the iphone comes out for verizon.

All I know is i currently have the pantech duo and it SUCKS DICK. Anything would be better.

If you feel like you’re giving in to anything, you should think twice about it.

discoinferno's avatar

@The_Compassionate_Heretic Yeah, I definitely don’t want to become one of those girls where the sentence “Ok, just like, BBM me when you get home” is uttered from my lips on a usual basis (or a similar variation)...the non-comformist in me still lives, just when I thought I’d mostly gotten over that…

It’s a useful device, just don’t get carried away.

What carrier are you on?

I have T-Mobile and I have the Curve 8900. It’s the best phone I’ve owned. Very dependable, snappy OS, good apps, and good for business.

I also have an unlocked iPhone EDGE and use it with my SIM card sometimes, but I prefer my BB better. The touchscreen gets annoying at times and Blackberry has the best push notifications.

I would strongly recommend a Blackberry, but it’s up to you. You really should go into your carrier’s store and play with one to see if you like the feel.

I have AT&T… and I’m 18, so the business aspect is pretty irrelevant to me, haha. The phone I have now was totally made for businessmen, and I just have no use for half the things on it.

seekingwolf's avatar

Oh, in that case…you can get either the Bold or the 8900. Those are the newest.

Bold has 3G speed but you may prefer the 8900 because it has a good form factor. I suggest you go into the AT&T store and play with them to see what you like.

I mentioned the business part because of the email capabilities…I got my BB in Feb and I was able to get my college email on my Blackberry. I wasn’t able to get it on my Sidekick or anything, so that was annoying. I just love getting push email and having it be reliable.

Blackberries are increasingly becoming consumer phones…so if you’re into that, it’s a good time to get on the bandwagon. :)

Ooh those both look niiiice. Definitely considering it.

I don’t think I could ever not have a BlackBerry.
