What would you put into your memory device?

Asked by Dog (25152points) July 22nd, 2009

In the future wallets may contain far more than photographs. They could contain quips of memory as you experienced which can be played back like a movie from your perspective.

What memory would you put into your wallet to show off to others?

Making “marshmallow goodness” this past weekend with my goofy sons. They took the melted chocolate and put it on their faces like war-paint. As hard as I tried to get mad, I laughed and grabbed the camera.

I would want pix of my daughters as toddlers when they played “connect the dots” on our family Dalmatian with a sharpie.

Also memories of my Dad and I hanging at the park when I was a kid.

I’d love to install memories of people already gone from this world. My mother in law, my big dog Spyder, Fay Wray, Anna, and quite a few others. Also, the memory of my wife sliding down the wooden ramp of a goat enclosure called Goat Mountain, an invention created by a good friend. She was wearing shorts that day, and ended up with a butt full of splinters. Of course, I had to pull the splinters out of her butt later, but the fall was funny as all get out.

I hope your ‘invention’ never makes it, it takes all the heart and soul out of memories. No I would never want to be able to store unlimited amounts of memory and NEVER digital. So far, anything that’s digital, can be stolen or suffers from data loss. You can lose a wallet with a dear picture in it but it wouldn’t spread an intimate memory on the world wide web. Mass storage is cold, unique print stays!

@martin86 why would it be any different than video or photos we have today?
The question was not asked to discuss if memories should be able to be re- lived but if they could which would you prize the most and hold the closest.

Am I to honest if I say, the best way to masturbate is to be able to re-live the sex you’ve had with different partners? Many will openly talk about remembering friends and family.. which is really nice.. but sex is the thing that drives us and fascinates most.

Other then that, to show off to friends, I’d memorize concerts.. the top best concerts I’ve even been too.. the ones you see the big tough guy next to you crying or where 35 fainted girls get carried to the front while the party goes on HARD!

I’d also memorize skills in graphic design/photography/video editing.. things that are useful for me and let me be 100% creative without having to think how to realize it.

When that day happens. We will not be walking around with quips of memories to share with friends.
We will be laying in bed. Plugged into the great computer and mental collective. Living out a virtual life.

But if I did have such a device in my wallet, I would be home. Laying in my bed playing it over and over. Living out my life, reliving what would be nothing more then a virtual experience.
