Why can't I login to my facebook account?

Asked by ShanEnri (4424points) July 29th, 2009

Everytime I try to login it sayd “cookies have to enabled”. I have reset everything to default (that’s what the help section said to do). I tried changing my password and get “you have to be logged in to view this page”. My daughter has no trouble logging in to hers and we’re on the same computer. I’ve emailed the facebook support and still no response. Please can anyone help?

Did you enable cookies on your browser? Don’t know which one you’re using, but it should be in the Tools or Settings options.

What web browser are you using?

You could try using a different browser, to see if that is the problem. If you don’t have a different browser yet, you can download and install one easily at http://www.getfirefox.com

I’m using IE8. Sorry should have said that. And like I said, I’ve done the cookies and everything they tell you to do, but to no avail!

Are you in “Inprivate Browsing mode”?

No, I’m not!

Switch to firefox.

I have to agree with switching to Firefox. If you don’t want to, start with clearing all cookies. If that doesn’t work, reinstall IE.

I would try Firefox. If that works you know the problem is IE and not Facebook. If it doesn’t the problem is Facebook. Or you have some virus/malware that is causing problems.
